Gimond et al. Vol. 143, No. 1, October 5, 1998. Pages 253–266.There are two incorrect sentences on p. 263.In the 12th line of the section entitled “Keratinocytes Expressing α6B Assemble Hemidesmosomes and Display Normal Adhesive and Migratory Properties,” the sentence beginning “This is interesting...” and the sentence directly following it are incorrect. The statements should read:A recent study has suggested that dephosphorylation of the α6A subunit is necessary for the association of the keratin IF with the α6β4 heterodimer (Baker et al., 1997). The α6B subunit has not been found to be phosphorylated, and thus phosphorylation events cannot play a role in hemidesmosome assembly supported by this variant in association with β4.
