Sequence-alignment of L5 in AChBP and subunits from pentameric, “cys-loop” receptor channels. The line marks L5 in AChBP. In AChRs, the tyrosine (in mouse α1, Y93) forms a part of the ACh binding pocket. The apex of L5 is at residue I92 in AChBP and is in bold. See Fig. 1 for structures.
