The binding and gating rate constants (mean ± SD) were estimated by jointly fitting interval durations from different concentrations of choline (one patch each at 1, 2 and 5 mM) using Scheme I (see Fig. 4). Kd was calculated as the ratio k/k+. The Kd value for choline in wt receptors is from (Zhou et al., 1999).
